Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on electrical systems over the past few days, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and applying sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles attacked the country's power systems, characterizing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the country's energy grid, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

He said technical personnel and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
